MANNA and Blue acquired by Q Hospitality Group

New chapter in growth ambition of Dutch hotel company

Nijmegen, May 28, 2025 – Q Hospitality Group is further expanding its portfolio with the acquisition of the leading boutique hotels MANNA and Blue Inspired by MANNA, located in the heart of Nijmegen. With this acquisition, the Dutch hotel group strengthens its position within the urban hotel market.

MANNA and Blue together comprise 40 rooms, including 8 exclusive suites, 2 comfortable studios and 30 efficiently furnished design rooms. The hotels also have two restaurants, a bar, a lounge and five meeting rooms. Both hotels are affiliated with the independent hotel collective Quality Lodgings.

Bas Tolmeijer, Co-founder & CEO of Q Hospitality Group, emphasizes the strategic importance of the acquisition: “With this acquisition we add a distinctive hotel concept to our portfolio at a central location in an important economic and tourist region. The combination of a strong own signature, high-quality hospitality and affiliation with Quality Lodgings fits perfectly with our long-term vision. We are proud that the current owners have given us the confidence to continue their life’s work.”

Investing in growth

Hotel MANNA opened its doors in 2009 and expanded in 2016 with Blue Inspired by MANNA. Under the leadership of entrepreneurs Sander Hendrix and Aïda Papilaja-Hendrix, it developed into a renowned name within the Dutch boutique hotel market, with a distinct focus on design, hospitality, and culinary quality. With the sale of their business, Sander and Aïda are saying goodbye to an important phase of their lives: “Over the past few years, together with our fantastic team, we have built a distinctive and successful business that has played a central role in our lives. The decision to sell was motivated by our desire to spend more time with our family, find new inspiration while traveling, and focus on future projects and concepts. In Q Hospitality Group, we have found a partner that fully endorses our vision and dedication.”

The announcement follows shortly after the recent acquisition of City Hotel Gouda by Q Hospitality Group. Bas Tolmeijer: ”In the coming years, we want to invest heavily in growth, quality, vitality, and, above all, in people who want to realize this ambitious vision together with us.”
