EHM Group becomes owner of QL Hotels

Quality Lodgings which joined the EHM Group as an independently operating subsidiary in January 2020, will be strengthened from 1 December with Mathilde van der Weerd who will drive the rollout of an ambitious new strategy in the role of Managing Director.

Just under a year after acquiring QL Hotels & Restaurants, the company is ready to roll out a new strategic plan. The plan focuses on becoming a booking platform for high-quality, culinary hotel experiences at Europe’s most unique hotel establishments. In addition, the QL community will be further developed and the purchasing function strengthened. Last but not least, the publication of the iconic QL Guide and QL magazine will continue to play an important role.

3 New hotels joined QL

Not only is QL Hotels expanding with a managing director, 3 new hotels have been added to the collection in the second half of the year. QL welcomes Het Broederenklooster in Zutphen, Hotel The Collector in The Hague and Hotel Langgenhof in Bruneck, Italy. Especially at this time, the hotels see the opportunities that affiliation with QL hotels offers to further profile themselves as providers of authentic, distinctive level hospitality, characterised among other things by outstanding gastronomy in or near the hotels.

Mathilde van der Weerd, Managing Director

Mathilde van der Weerd has earned her stripes in the hotel industry and was active at a young age as general manager and regional manager at Postillion. Her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for contemporary F&B make her the perfect match for QL. Mathilde will start as managing director on 1 December. Current managing director Sander Allegro will remain the figurehead of QL as chairman and will mainly focus on community development and acquisition of new hotels.

Mathilde van der Weerd: “I am really looking forward to this great challenge! There are many opportunities to expand and further facilitate the special collection of QL hotels. Together, we will leverage the collective even more powerfully, increasing individual success as well.”

Sander Allegro: “I am very much looking forward to further developing and expanding the amazing QL collection together with Mathilde and the team. The aim is to support the special hotels that make up QL even better in their independent success, especially in these challenging times.”
