New hotel operating partner and investor Hera-HRI
Topped with the name of the wife of supreme god Zeus, Hera HRI is a new flexible hotel partner focused on acquiring and managing hotel properties. That the company is being launched now is no coincidence.
Distressed hotel owners are offered solution
Because of the pandemic, the world is at a standstill. There is hardly any travel, business events are only organised online and tourism is being discouraged by the government. An absolute problem for hotel operators who can no longer afford the rent. As a result, property owners often cannot meet their financial obligations either. Furthermore, there are insufficient funds for maintenance, let alone for potential adjustments and innovations due to perhaps structural changes in demand for hotel rooms. Hera HRI was set up to help property owners and banks with their portfolios. This can be done in various flexible ways.
Hospitality will be a healthy industry again.
Larissa Esser is one of the initiators of Hera HRI: “Business travel and tourism is expected to recover after the COVID-19 crisis and hospitality will be a healthy industry again within a few years. Despite this, many operators in the hotel industry are expressing a desire to pull out of the sector or seize the momentum to (partially) divest their portfolio. Hera HRI assists with financial restructuring through participation and even full takeover of the property. Furthermore, we can take care of asset management on behalf of the owner and develop concepts for possible alternative use of the property.”
Hera HRI is an independent unit within EHM Group. The founders started the company European Hotel Management 15 years ago and grew it into one of the largest hotel groups in the Netherlands (Apollo Hotels). In 2018, the chain was successfully sold to Leonardo Hotels of the Fattal Hotel Group. The entrepreneurs continued their operations in the new company EHM Group (www.ehmgroup.nl).
